PORT TOWNSEND — A celebration of neighborhood and of local Port Townsend artistry is set for its 30th rendition this Saturday.
The Uptown Street Fair will present live entertainment, the Port Townsend Arts & Crafts Fair, the Port Townsend Farmers Market, local food, free art activities for families and the Uptown Street Fair Parade from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with events followed by a free movie, Encanto, at the Port Townsend Library, 1220 Lawrence St., at 6 p.m.
More than 2,000 are expected to attend the annual celebration in the Uptown Historic Business District.
Lawrence Street and Tyler Street will be closed for the Uptown Street Fair, as well as the Farmers Market location on Polk Street.
The Grandly Local Parade, known to be short but colorful, will be at 2 p.m. Participants will line up at the East Jefferson Fire-Rescue station at 701 Harrison St. No religious or political entries are to be allowed.
All are welcome, but like all other aspects of the Uptown Street Fair, the emphasis is on the local neighborhood.
The Port Townsend Arts & Crafts Guild, planned form 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tyler Street at Lawrence across from the Port Townsend Community Center, Uptown, will feature fine arts and crafts from Northwest artists not usually seen at the weekly farmers market, the Port Townsend Arts Guild said in a press release.
Some of the juried work includes tie-dyed dresses and shirts, botanical paintings and prints, fused glass art, pottery, leather belts and bags, cedar boxes, soaps, lampworked beads, silver jewelry, repurposed furniture, bird paintings, metal home and yard art, bird houses, handwoven rugs, stuffed animals, ethnic felted hats, purses and tribal-style jewelry.
The Arts Guild will use the money raised by the booth fees to fund college scholarships in the arts for Jefferson County students as well as other cultural events.

• 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Farmers market and food vendors.
• 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. — Port Townsend High School Music Boosters student performance.
• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — Port Townsend Arts Guild Arts & Crafts Fair.
• 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. — Outdoor Beer Garden hosted by The Uptown Pub.
• 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. — Chef Rufina Garay will cook food to sample on Polk Street at the farmers market.
• 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. — Phina Pipia and Jack Dwyer will perform original songs on guitar and banjo.
• 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — Children’s art activities coordinated by Port Townsend Artscape on Lawrence Street.
• 10:30 a.m. — Family Story Time with Judith Bows, presented by the Port Townsend Public Library. Dolly Parton Imagination Library booth sponsored by Port Townsend Rotary.
• 11 a.m. to noon — John Maxwell, guitarist, playing blues.
• Noon to 1:15 p.m. — The Band LeLe will play an eclectic mix of covers and originals with an indie folk pop style.
• 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. — Hoop dancing demonstration and participatory activity
• 2 p.m. — The Grandly Local Parade.
• 2:25 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. —The Unexpected Brass Band — Port Townsend’s favorite funky New Orleans-style brass ensemble.
• 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. — The Black Chevys — Rock N’ Soul Band. Fronted by Rob Ross and featuring Duncan Cava Newland-Thompson on guitar.
• 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. — Cascade Country — Two-Stepping Honky Tonk Country with Bobby Winstead, Jack Dwyer and their band.
• 6 p.m. — Encanto at the Port Townsend Public Library. Encanto is an animated Walt Disney film that tells the story of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family living in a magical house in Colombia.
