Ugly sweater contest, pub crawl set tonight

PORT ANGELES — An ugly sweater contest, a pub crawl and poker walk — all in one night.

The Kiwanis Club of Port Angeles has teamed up with United Way of Clallam County to bring the third-annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Pub Crawl & Poker Walk to downtown Port Angeles from 6:30 to 10 tonight.

Advance tickets were available only through Thursday.

Tickets will be sold at the check-in point for $20 today.

Event tickets include entry into the Ugly Sweater Contest and two drink tickets to be used at participating locations.

Price for designated drivers

A special price for designated drivers/sober attendees is $7 and can be purchased at the check-in point.

Attendees check in on the first floor of The Landing mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave., starting at 6:30 p.m., where they receive the evening’s supplies.

For an additional $5, attendees can join in the Poker Walk for a chance to win 50 percent of the poker walk proceeds.

Stops will include Bada Bean NW; Barhop Brewing & Artisan Pizza; Coyote BBQ Pub; the Port Angeles Winter Ice Village, drink specials courtesy of the Hurricane Ridge ski team; New Moon Craft Tavern and the Moxie Boutique, poker stop only.

The night’s festivities end at The Metta Room, 132 E. Front St., where the ugly sweater contest is set, along with the announcement of the Poker Walk winners.

The winners of the ugly sweater contest receive cash prizes. Two winners will be picked: best individual ugly sweater and best couple.

“This year’s event should be a really fun! We’ve moved it to Friday, we have new bar(s) participating, and with the help of United Way, this should be a really fun and festive fundraiser,” said Darcey Beck, Kiwanis Club of Port Angeles president.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Kiwanis Club of Port Angeles’ and United Way of Clallam County.
