Two writers featured in Fourth Friday Readings

SEQUIM — Authors Gordon Anderson and Bonnie Dickmann will be featured at Fourth Friday Readings at The Lodge Media Room, 660 Evergreen Farm Road beginning at 6:15 p.m.

The event is free, there is plenty of parking, and the Bistro at the Lodge has coffee and pastries.

Dickmann moved to the Olympic Peninsula a year ago from Wisconsin where she had lived her whole life. She has kept a journal for more than 40 years, published poetry, fiction and non-fiction, and especially enjoys nature writing, according to a news release.

She enjoys the environs of her new home, observing that rainforests and salt water were not part of life in Wisconsin.

While Dickmann is a newcomer, Anderson has spent a large part of his life living and camping on the coast, drinking too much coffee, and using his library card for 70 years.

Organizers said Dickmann writes many formats of poetry, free verse to rhymes, haiku to longer verse — even a short story now and then. Anderson’s sixth volume of poetry is soon to be published.

An hour of 5-minute open mic readings will follow the presentation.

Interested writers should come early to submit their names and rehearse in advance as the readings are timed.
