FORKS — The Forever Twilight in Forks Collection has reopened, just in time for a virtual festival that will begin Thursday.
Forever Twilight in Forks (FTF) announced earlier this year its annual celebration of novels written by Stephenie Myer and set in Forks would be mostly virtual this year because of COVID-19 precautions.
“Just like many other events, we are going virtual, and even though we won’t be able to gather in person this year, we can still have a lot of fun thanks to technology,” said Lissy Andros, executive director of the Forks Chamber of Commerce, in a press release.
The chamber organizes the festival.
In addition to celebrating the books and movies in the vampire saga, the festival will fete Meyer’s newest novel, “Midnight Sun,” which tells the Twilight romance through the eyes of vampire Edward Cullen. The novel, which was released in August, takes a darker look at the tale originally detailed through mortal Bella Swan.
Registration is needed for some events and will be open until 5 p.m. Thursday for the events spanning four days through Sunday in Forks.

Participants can take a walk in the meadow with actors portraying Cullen and Swan, watch the sunset from LaPush, watch panels with the FTF Cosplayers and see a panel featuring actor Erik Odom, who played Peter in the Twilight Saga film, Breaking Dawn, Part 2.

The Forever Twilight in Forks Collection reopened Friday at the Rainforest Arts Center Alcove at 11 N. Forks Ave., with some modifications, and will be open throughout the festival.
It routinely will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
No more than eight visitors will be permitted to enter at a time. The entrance is now on Division Street, and visitors can come in only at designated times — every half-hour until 3:30 p.m.
All reference materials, such as catalogs and magazines, will be stored for the time being.
A limited supply of commemorative baseball-style jerseys are for sale at the Visitor Information Center, 1411 S. Forks Ave.
The center is open daily with walk-up windows. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday through the end of September.
Winter hours will begin in October, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
