Tribute band to perform Beatles songs to benefit area organizations

PORT ANGELES — Tribute band Creme Tangerine will perform “faithful versions but not carbon copies” of favorite Beatles songs today and Saturday at Olympic Cellars Winery to benefit local organizations.

Today, doors will open 6 p.m. at 255410 U.S. Highway 101, and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets cost $13 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the winery or online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2850118.

Olympic Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Club of Port Angeles teamed up to organize the concert, which benefits Camp Beausite Northwest.

The Chimacum camp for adults and youths with disabilities offers five weeklong camping sessions in the summer and weekend camping throughout the year. Recently, the camp expanded its programs to serve veterans with disabilities.

The Kiwanis Club in Sequim started the camp in 1989 to give children with disabilities the opportunity for a camp experience.

For more information about Kiwanis’ fundraising efforts, call 360-452-9848.

On Saturday, doors also open at 6 p.m. at 255410 Highway 101, and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Tickets cost $13 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the winery or online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2730638.

Proceeds will support Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization whose service area stretches from Diamond Point to Joyce.

“Support Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County while you dance,” volunteer services manager Astrid Raffinpeyloz said. “Gaze at the waning moon or at the clouds while listening to great Beatles songs redone a la Creme Tangerine.”

About the venue

Limited parking is available, so winery staff encourage carpooling.

Rain or shine, customers will be on the lawn under the stars, and seating will be festival-style; a few tables and chairs will be available first-come, first-served, but Olympic Cellars suggests people bring their own chairs.

Nourish, a Sequim restaurant serving organic food from local growers, will be on-site for both concerts.

Guests can bring their own dinners but must leave the alcoholic beverages at home.

It is considered a family venue. No smoking, vaping or marijuana is allowed. No pets can accompany concertgoers.
