Tickets on sale for Celebrate United event

PORT ANGELES — Tickets are on sale for the United Way of Clallam County’s Celebrate United brunch, which is set for 11 a.m. Sept. 27.

The fundraiser will be at the Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St.

Tickets are $50 per person. A table of eight is available for $350 at https://united24.givesmart.com.

The Red Lion will cater a full brunch buffet complete with breakfast menu items, including dishes for people with dietary restrictions.

“Brunch is all about coming together, celebrating and indulging,” said Jaycie Wakefield, the United Way’s development director. “This event is not just an opportunity to enjoy good company and a brunch experience, it’s a chance to learn more about Clallam County and make a tangible difference in our community.”

Attendees also will have an opportunity to sample signature brunch cocktails and mocktails, as well as spiked coffee or loaded hot cocoa.

This year’s brunch will feature a panel of community experts, including Wendy Bart, CEO of Olympic Peninsula YMCA; Mary Budke, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula; Wendy Sisk, CEO of Peninsula Behavioral Health; and moderator Christy Smith, CEO of United Way of Clallam County.

Along with a list of moderated questions, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panel.

Each year, United Way of Clallam County identifies the community’s most critical needs and raises funds to implement collaborative, innovative solutions to improve the lives of people living in the county.

United Way serves more than 46,600 people in the region.

“Day in and out, United Way of Clallam County works to meet the most critical needs in our community,” United Way CEO Christy Smith said. “In every stage of life, we are there leading the change. We provide books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to our youngest learners. We support those starting college or getting back into the workforce with student financial aid resources. We fund nonprofits with grants to support those who are struggling to pay rent, utilities and more. Together, we are working towards a future where everyone can reach their full potential.”
