Tickets available for Port Townsend Wearable Art Show

PORT TOWNSEND — Tickets are still available for the seventh annual Port Townsend Wearable Art Show on May 13.

Two shows are planned at the McCurdy Pavilion at Fort Worden. They will be at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Awards will follow the evening show. A boutique with items for sale will be open a half-hour before each show.

General admission tickets are from $25 to $50. Tickets are $75 for a VIP reception. They are available at www.brownpaper tickets.com/event/2722563.

Proceeds from tickets go to the Jefferson County Foundation’s Fund for Women &Girls endowment, which gives a grant each year to benefit women and girls in Jefferson County.

Of the 47 pieces to be displayed on the runway during the show will be 15 pieces of fashion and 32 wearable art pieces, organizers said.

Dale Chihuly Glass, snow fencing, felt and plumbing insulation are a few of the inspirations the artists used this year.

A large video screen will show details to everyone in the pavilion.

At least 40 percent of the proceeds from the boutique go to the Fund for Women &Girls. The boutique will be open a half-hour before each show, during intermission and after the shows.
