‘Things to Do in Sequim’ offers meet-greet of local organizations

SEQUIM — The public is invited to attend a community-building event, “Things to Do in Sequim,” set from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road.

The event is an opportunity for everyone to visit with representatives of more than 40 clubs and organizations offering myriad ways to participate in the local community.

Included groups

These groups include those marshalling volunteers for community benefits, such as Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County and the Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic; service clubs such as Kiwanis, Soroptimist and Lions; fraternal organizations such as Masons and the Sequim Prairie Grange; and clubs focused on specific activities such as quilting, hiking, softball or cars.

The grange will have a light lunch available during the event, starting at 11 a.m.

This is the third annual “Things to Do in Sequim” event, organized as a community service project by the Sequim Prairie Grange.

“The more we are involved, the more we feel a part of the community and the more the community is able to fulfill our needs,” Sequim resident Ted Lund said.

‘Hundreds of volunteers’

“Hundreds of volunteers provide thousands of hours of service in our community each month, and there are still needs unmet. We have a great community because of those who are involved — but we can make it better.”
