Peterson, a master weaver and member of the Makah Tribe, will focus on the history, culture, artistry and importance of weaving.
She will conclude her presentation with a hands-on weaving activity to demonstrate Makah basketry.

JOYCE — The Port Angeles Lions Club will host a benefit breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.

Turkey trot
PORT TOWNSEND — Jumping Mouse Children’s Center will present its eighth Turkey Trot 5K and One-mile Kids’ Fun Run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The runs are on the Larry Scott Trail starting at the Boat Haven trailhead.
The kids’ run begins at 9 a.m. with the 5K following at 9:30 a.m.
According to a press release, this is a sanctioned 5K race on a USATF- certified course.
Coffee from Port Townsend’s Sunrise Coffee Co., hot cocoa and treats will be available at the finish line.
Prizes also will be awarded.
Registration is $30 for adults and $10 for the 1-mile race with discounts available for students, seniors and active duty military personnel.
