Teen initiative to host play at Key City Theatre

PORT TOWNSEND — The Teen Initiative will stage a production of “Pride and Prejudice and Perms” from Friday through Thursday.

The play will be at Key City Public Theatre, 419 Washington St.

Tickets are $20 per person, $10 for youths 13-17 and $5 for youths younger than 12 by calling the box office at 360-385-5278 or visiting www.keycitypublictheatre.org.

The play, written by Kathleen McDowell, is an adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” set in 1987.

The production is directed by Anna Munn.

The Teen Initiative links students age 13-19 with mentors from Key City Public Theatre’s professional artists.

The cast includes Nola Bertucci, Cloud Blackburn, Theo Deickmann, C.J. Fisher, Kaylee Klebanow, Fraces Lynch, Millie O’Neill, Zoe Pruden, Stephen Rymer, Ursula Schmidt, Dakota Schryver, Ben Shafer, Jay Soper-Serkowski and Willa Wayland.

The program currently includes more than 20 students producing the entire show, from set and costume designs to stage management and publicity.

Teen Initiative is offered to students at no cost through individual sponsors at the theater’s annual benefit auction as well as the Port Townsend Arts Commission, Kristin Manwaring Insurance and The Law Offices of Steve Dowdell.
