Talbot to perform tonight at Northwind Arts

PORT TOWNSEND — Northwind Arts Center will join Matt Miner Presents in welcoming singer-songwriter Nathaniel Talbot for an evening of original songs at 7 tonight.

Advance tickets are $12 each from https://talbot northwind.brownpaper tickets.com/. Tickets are $15 at the door at Northwind Arts Center, 701 Water St.

With influences ranging from prodigious guitar pickers such as Doc Watson, Leo Kottke, and Kelly Joe Phelps to the more soulful folk poetry of Elliott Smith, Gillian Welch, and Paul Simon, Talbot’s music represents a unique synthesis of old-time picking and the indie here-and-now, organizers said.

Talbot combines finger-style guitar work with melodic vocal lines.

He lives on Whidbey Island where he runs an organic vegetable farm and continues to write and perform regionally, both as a solo and with a small group.

He has released four albums.

Northwind Arts Center welcomes Matt Miner Presents (MMP) as a new partner in presenting live acoustic music in Port Townsend. MMP has been producing intimate concerts in the Portland, Ore., area for 12 years, specializing in presenting touring artists from across the country and around the world.
