Symphony concert video premiere online

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Symphony Ensemble’s first concert video is now available for viewing online free of charge.

The link to the performance and an interview with the guest artists are found at Portangeles symphony.org and on the Port Angeles Symphony page on Facebook.

Earlier this month, musicians from across and beyond the North Olympic Peninsula recorded the hour-long concert with conductor and music director Jonathan Pasternack. Al Bergstein, Michael Delagarza and George Rezendes of Port Townsend produced the video and audio.

“There was a special chemistry that happened when these musicians got together,” Pasternack said of the performance, the Symphony’s first in more than eight months.

The ensemble features cellists Traci Winters Tyson and Karson Nicpon, violinists Marina Rosenquist and Kate Southard-Dean, violists Tyrone T. Beatty and Phil Morgan-Ellis and co-concertmasters Jory Noble and James Garlick.

Together they perform Brahms’ grand Double Concerto and Felix Mendelssohn’s Octet for Strings, with the Sempre Sisters, cellist Olivia Marckx and violinist Charlotte Marckx of Bellevue, as guest soloists.

Donations to the nonprofit Port Angeles Symphony are welcome.
