Studio Bob starts new hours

PORT ANGELES — Studio Bob will begin holding new gallery hours — with a new phone number and email address — starting today.

The studio at 118½ E. Front St. in Port Angeles will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday beginning today.

The new studio hours will allow visitors to view the monthly art exhibits and enjoy beer, wine, cider and seasonal specialty drinks in the The Loom bar. The Loom, operated by creative associates Christopher Allen and Stephen Thomas, also will start serving appetizer/small plate dishes featuring locally sourced foods, said Bob Stokes, owner of the studio.

Allen and Thomas moved from Santa Cruz, Calif., to Washington in 2018, settling in Port Angeles the summer of 2020.

Allen has enjoyed a long career in the education field, but he has worked as a recycled materials artist for the last 10 years and now does that full-time.

His husband, Thomas, works in the telecommunications industry and also has past experience in the food service industry.

After hosting several shows last summer, the two were approached by Stokes to bring new energy to the studio.

While they will continue working with Sarah Tucker hosting events such as the monthly Second Weekend Art Walk, drag and burlesque shows, Drink and Draw, IWANT Improv shows and Story Slams, planned future events will include movie nights, film festivals, children’s art programs, local performers of all kinds, and pop-up appearances from local breweries and wineries.

The new phone number for Studio Bob and The Loom is 360-775-2160, email is info@studiobob.art.
