Studio Bob opens a big weekend on Thursday

PORT ANGELES — Studio Bob plans a variety of events this weekend, beginning Thursday.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. Thursday at the studio at 118½ E. Front St., Port Angeles, for St*tch & B*tch with host Marva Holmes, which will be offered free and to all ages from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Holmes and Sarah Tucker will provide assistance in making fiber projects.

Participants can bring a project to work on or try one of theirs.

Holmes and Tucker have yarn, crochet hooks and a recorded tutorial for those who want to teach themselves to crochet.

Holmes will have materials to teach weaving in the round while Tucker will teach how to create “plarn, yarn created from plastic.”

Drawing materials will be available. While crafting, the Loom bar will have snacks and beverages available for sale.

The loom offers a variety of cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks and warm beverages.

The Loom will be open at 4 p.m.

The following day, Studio Bob will host Last Friday Art Social with Host Zoe Omega from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The free art-oriented gathering hosted by artist Omega will have plates and drinks available for purchase at the onsite Loom Bar.

Some supplies will be provided via sharing. Artist Cammry Lapka will be onsite, welcoming new folks to the event.

Later Friday night will be the Out Loud Story Slam — Theme Expectations with hosts Nessa Goldman and Meredith Vincent.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. for the show at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance at outloud-storyslam.ticketleap.com/storytelling-at-studio-bob— expectations or $15 at the door. Cash and card accepted.

Everyone will be invited to drop their names in a bag to share a five-minute true personal story on the theme.

All are welcome to come only to listen.

On Saturday will be the GenX Dance Party — An Iva Handfull Production.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The dance is for all generations, 21 and older. Tickets are $15 in advance at https://genx danceparty.ticketleap.com/january2024.

Music will be from the ’80s and ’90s. The DJ will be The Professor.
