Story Slam brings the ‘Unexpected’ next week

SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts and the Story People of Clallam County will bring the “Unexpected” to the OTA stage Thursday.

The Story Slam with the theme “Unexpected” will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave.

General admission is $10 per person.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.olympic theatrearts.org, at the box office, or at the door.

The Story Slam master of ceremonies will choose 10 tellers and three judges from the audience. Tellers will be randomly chosen and will have five minutes to tell a real story from their lives on the topic “Unexpected.”

Judges will select a winner at the end of the evening.

The inaugural event was at OTA in May. It enabled the two nonprofits to evaluate public interest in holding such an event as an ongoing series.

That first event was so successful the two groups hosted a second Story Slam in July.
