Stitch N Pitch combines baseball, needle arts

PORT ANGELES — What better combination could a person ask for than baseball and the needle arts?

Those who yearn to have both at the same time are invited to Lefties Stitch N Pitch with Cabled Fiber & Yarn at 1 p.m. Sunday at Civic Field at Third and Race streets in Port Angeles.

The First Stitch N Pitch is sponsored by Cabled Fiber & Yarn of Port Angeles.

“Stitch N Pitch combines two American traditions — baseball and the needle arts,” according to a press release.

Cabled Fiber & Yarn will rent the Party Deck at Civic Field for knitters, crocheters, quilters, spinners, embroiderers or any other fiber artist to come together to root for the home team, which will play the Bellingham Belles.

A Crafter Package is available for purchase online www.cabledfiber.com or in person through Cabled Fiber & Yarn at 125 W. First St., Port Angeles.

The package will include a game ticket, a commemorative tote bag, a food/drink voucher, a drawing ticket and a needle arts gift. The cost of the package is $20.

The Party Deck will include a no host bar as well as a fire pit, heaters or umbrellas depending on the weather. Spouses and friends are welcome.
