Stephanie Schneiderman Trio to perform in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — Portland-based Stephanie Schneiderman Trio, featuring Jenny Conlee of the Decemberists, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Palindrome.

Tickets to the show at Eaglemount Cidery, 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road in Port Townsend, are $20 each online at https://www. ticketstorm.com/e/28213/t/ or $25 cash or check at the door.

Stephanie Schneiderman is a Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter, combining elements of folk, Americana, trip hop and pop into a dark and introspective, lush sound, organizers said.

Her acoustic trio features Conlee of the Decemberists on accordion and Keith Brush of the Blue Cranes on upright bass.

Schneiderman has produced nine solo albums, played drums for all-star roots pop act Swan Sovereign (formerly Dirty Martini), stepped on the stage in the musical The Full Monty, produced a humanitarian concert series for refugees in Uganda that raised more than $70,000 and produced the soundtrack for three children’s DVDs.

Her solo career began with a spot in the Lilith Fair and she went on to receive extensive Northwest radio play, tour internationally, and earn placements in numerous films and primetime TV shows, organizers said.

She has performed with some of the nation’s top touring acts — from Aimee Mann to Hall & Oates, Heart, Marc Cohen, Sarah McLachlan and Train.

She has a keen passion for activism and is currently penning a musical about human trafficking.

Her new album, Crossfire, combines her past sonic explorations — folk, Americana, trip hop and pop.

Funded by pre-purchases and community house concerts, Crossfire is a labor of love that celebrates her maiden voyage as self-producer.

“For all around musicianship, imagination, songwriting and pure inspiration, this gets my vote for the best of the year on any chart, in any genre,” said Tom D’Antoni of The Oregonian.
