Standup, improv, old timey music offered Wednesday

PORT ANGELES — Standup, improv and old-timey music take the stage at Peninsula College’s Little Theater at noon Wednesday.

The event is free and open to the public at the Little Theater on the Port Angeles campus at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Donations will be accepted.

Veteran improvisers from Everett Improv, a comedy club that won the “Best Comedy Club” award in the Pacific Northwest, will perform alongside Peninsula College students while the jug band Dumpster Joe plucks Jazz Age tunes.

Britney Barber — owner, performer, writer and improv teacher from Everett Improv — will listen to students’ comedy skits and act out spinoff scenes.

Dumpster Joe, Taylor Moon and their band will play interludes of 1920s and 1930s hokum blues, hillbilly tunes and jazz accompanied by guitar, harmonica, washtub bass, washboards, fiddles and saxophones.

The Comedy Variety Hour may contain adult content.

The show is made possible through the support of Peninsula College’s Associated Student Council.
