Spring Quarter jazz show tonight at Peninsula College

PORT ANGELES — David P. Jones and the PC Jazz Ensemble will host their spring quarter show at 7 tonight in Maier Hall.

The concert on the Peninsula College campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., is free and open to the public.

Singers Robbin Eaves, Olga Palenga and Scott Sizer will be backed by the 17-piece PC Jazz Ensemble, which also will be heard on several instrumental numbers.

The composers and bandleaders represented in this concert will include George Gershwin, Thad Jones, Buddy Rich, Mary Lou Williams, Gerry Mulligan, A. C. Jobim, Benny Golson, Lerner & Lowe, Matt Dennis, Daniel Barry and Jones.

From Port Angeles are Palenga (piano), Bob Bailey (alto sax), Richard “Doc” Thorson (tenor sax), Ken Lorentzen (trumpet), Ed Donohue (trumpet), Kris Grier (trumpet), Tyler Benedict (trombone) and Jones (keyboards/director).

From Sequim are Andy Geiger (tenor sax), Jeff Dingle (trombone), Tim Naples (bass trombone), Elaine Gardner-Morales (bass), and Nicia Pfeffer (drums).

Representing Port Townsend are John Adams (alto & soprano saxes), Lorenzo Jones (bari sax) and Sizer (trumpet).

Hailing from Port Ludlow is Ron Daylo (trombone) and drummer Tor Brandes makes the trek all the way from Brinnon.
