Spooky fun offered on Peninsula

The thrills of Halloween are concentrated in haunted houses across the North Olympic Peninsula.

Here is the schedule of haunted houses — and a harvest carnival.

FORKS

Rain of Terror

FORKS — The VFW of Forks is sponsoring the Rain of Terror Haunted Hangar from 7 p.m. to midnight for the next two weekends and Oct. 31.

The haunted hangar is at the Quillayute Airport, 5144 Quillayute Road.

Admission will be $10 tonight, Saturday, Oct. 26, 27 and 31 at the haunting event which claims to be the scariest on the Olympic Peninsula.

PORT TOWNSEND

Haunt Town

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend Kiwanis is hosting Haunt Town in the basement of the Elks Lodge.

Admission is $10 per person at the haunted house at the lodge at 555 Otto St.

Haunt Town will be open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. today and Saturday, and from this coming Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 27, and on Wednesday, Oct. 31, for Halloween.

There will be a youth special from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; children younger than 13 years of age will be admitted for $5 when accompanied by a full adult admission.

Proceeds from the house will benefit Port Townsend Kiwanis, the Elks and local Associated Student Body clubs.

Zombie Crawl

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend’s third annual Zombie Crawl will take place from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

The crawl will start at Haller Fountain at the corner of Taylor and Washington streets and finish when the “mob” reaches Pope Marine Park.

The scheduled activities will begin with zombie make-up sessions at 11:30 a.m. and end with the Zombie Prom from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Haunted Bordello

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend’s Haunted Bordello is offering guided tours to small groups 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. next Friday and Saturday.

The bordello is at 313 Walker St.

Parking at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., is recommended.

Advance tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.hauntedbordello.com.

All attendees must be 17 years of age or more to enter, with no exceptions.

“If you are disturbed by skin, sin or scariness then this probably isn’t for you,” according to the website.

PORT ANGELES

Harvest carnival

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Pre-3 Cooperative Preschool will host its annual Harvest Carnival & Silent Auction from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The carnival will be in the gymnasium at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St.

Admission is $3 per person and includes unlimited crafts. Children younger than 12 months will be admitted free.

It will offer games, prizes, crafts, a cake walk, gift basket raffle, face painting, bake sale and a silent auction.

The games and crafts are designed for children 8 years and younger, but are intended to be fun for the entire family.

The first 100 children receive a free book from Clallam County Literacy Council.
