Sponsors step up for 2024 Sequim Sunshine Festival

SEQUIM —Three local organizations have once again agreed to be title sponsors for Sequim Sunshine Festival events and are contributing $5,000 each to support the event.

The festival will take place on Friday and Saturday with a series of family-friendly activities designed to celebrate the near end of winter and the coming of the spring and summer seasons.

Sound Community Bank returns as the title sponsor for the Illuminated Drone Show by Firefly Drone Shows. This is the fourth year that Sound Community Bank has been a title sponsor for a Sequim Sunshine Festival event.

The drone show will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday and will launch south of Carrie Blake Park. The show will feature 200 drones flying in choreographed formation, is best viewed from a distance, and will be visible from multiple locations inside the park.

“Sound Community Bank is thrilled to be the Event Title Sponsor of the highly anticipated Illuminated Drone Show at the 5th annual Sequim Sunshine Festival,” said Shelli Robb-Kahler, senior vice president/relationship manager for Sound Community Bank.

“We understand the importance of supporting and giving back to the communities we serve,” she said. “By investing in local events and organizations we can help strengthen the fabric of our Sequim community.”

Peninsula Behavioral Health is the title sponsor for the Sun Fun Color Run for the second year. The run takes place at the Albert Haller Playfields at Carrie Blake Park at 11 a.m. Saturday. This family-friendly event offers 1K and 5K options. You can register at https://runsignup.com/Race/WA/Sequim/SunFunColorRun.

“Peninsula Behavioral Health is excited to sponsor the Sun Fun Color Run, a fantastic chance for our community to unite, shake off the winter blues, and have a great time. We are thankful to the City of Sequim for making this event a colorful and joyful experience for everyone,” said Angel Dennis, development director for Peninsula Behavioral Health.

Clallam County Public Utility District is the title sponsor for the Interactive Light Experience for the second year.

A custom-built interactive environment, designed and built by artist Ross Brown, that blends art and science encouraging visitors to look at light as an artistic design element and the physical properties of light. The exhibit will be in the Clubhouse at Pioneer Memorial Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

“PUD staff have always enjoyed the sense of wonder, as well as a little competitive streak when kids experience the generating bike for the first time. We are excited to be part of this event,” said Nicole Hartman, communication manager and public records officer for the PUD.
