PORT TOWNSEND — The Soundcheck Music and Arts Festival is set for a variety of venues across Port Townsend from Thursday through Sunday.
The festivities include a Lindy Hop dance class on Friday afternoon at Tyler Plaza, open-air performances of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Chetzemoka Park, the 32nd Uptown Street Fair on Saturday, family movies on Fort Worden and the Port Townsend Public Library, a burlesque show at Brigid’s Loft and social justice poetry at the American Legion Hall.

Friday’s Lindy Hop dance class will be taught by Sarah Peller and Michael McCurdy with music performed live by the Jonas Myers Quartet.
Family Movie Night, Thursday evening at the Port Townsend Public Library, will show the 1971 film, “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory,” while Backyard Movies, Saturday evening on Littlefield Greens at Fort Worden, will show the 2006 film, “Akeelah and the Bee,” and the Rose Theatre will host a free screening of the 2019 documentary “The Bowmaker” on Sunday morning.
On Friday, “Brigid’s Bombshells Burlesque,” featuring the Sky Dancers and co-hosted by K.C. Noir and the Duchess of ProXecco, will be onstage at Brigid’s Loft. Tickets for the 18-and-older event are $28 per person, $40 for VIP seating.
Water Street Beats, a 21-and-older event, features nine DJs set up in the Pope Marine and Cotton buildings with a bar in the plaza between the two. Music will start at 9 p.m. Friday and go until 1 a.m. Saturday.
The Uptown Street Fair on Saturday will include the Port Townsend Farmers Market, an Arts and Crafts Fair by Port Townsend Arts Guild, an all-day outdoor live music stage, kids’ activities and the Unbelievably Colorful Yet Brief Uptown Street Fair Parade.
Saturday evening’s “Bandsplosion” will feature a variety of musicians performing at Port Townsend Vineyards, the Nest, Port Townsend Brewing, Sirens Pub and Anchor. Several of these venues are 21 and older, so attendees should check the Soundcheck website.
