PORT ANGELES — Harbor Art Gallery in Port Angeles has a new member.
Steve Portner, a fine woodworker specializing in marquetry and other creative inlay, joins painter Andrèa Woods and bronze sculptor Katie Graham as the gallery’s most recent contributors.
“I like people to enter my paintings and feel like they are there,” Woods said. “Art refreshes out souls.”
The gallery, at 114 N. Laurel St., is continuing a “Small Works Show” throughout December. Members of the artist collective are creating and displaying delicate, diminutive and affordable works.
Ceramicist Terri Enck recently renovated her studio, adding heat just in time for winter.
“I’ve been having fun creating little trees, new fairy house designs and heart bowls for the show,” she said.
Acrylic painter Jodi Riverstone is busy creating inspired depictions of local scenes and subject matter, a popular theme among the gallery’s 22 members working in all manner of media, from jewelry to photography, wire sculpture to textiles.
Harbor Art Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Visitors can meet many of the artists at the gallery during the Second Saturday Art Walk from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 9.
Harbor Art Gallery also showcases work by local artists Bob Stokes, Cindy Elstrom, Carolyn Guske, Robert Amaral, Garret DeLaBarre, Katie Graham, Tammy Hall, Susan Kantowitz, Nancy McFaul, Gail McLain, Roger Mosley, Eric Neurath, Miranda Petruska, Randy and Sallie Radock, Nathan Shields, Lance and Haley Snider, Eileen Webb, Kevin Willson and Andrèa Woods.
