PORT ANGELES — “Small Works: Love Where You Live” will be on exhibit throughout November.
The exhibit of smaller-scaled pieces handcrafted by local artists will be at Harbor Art Gallery, 114 N. Laurel St., Port Angeles.
The Small Works show includes paintings, prints, ceramics, photography, fiber art, jewelry and fine woodworking.
Each piece reflects the artist’s connections to the region, from misty coastal views and evergreen forests to the vibrant textures and colors of local flora and fauna.
Visitors can meet the artists at the gallery during the Second Saturday Art Walk from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
“This theme really speaks to our artists,” said Cindy Elstrom, the gallery’s owner. “The Olympic Peninsula inspires us every day, and this show captures that sense of gratitude for where we live — how we see beauty in our surroundings and translate it into art.”
Fiber artist Lora Armstrong finds endless inspiration in the natural world around her.
“I love working with the greens, blues and golds that remind me of home,” Armstrong said. “So many of my pieces begin with a walk — seeing a fern or a petal or a rock that sparks an idea. Felting lets me translate those moments into color and texture.”
Photographer Becky Stinnett shares her love of the Peninsula through her camera lens.
“I never run out of inspiration here,” Stinnett said. “The light changes constantly: on the water, in the trees, even in the fog. Love Where You Live is about noticing those fleeting, beautiful moments that make this place extraordinary.”
The show also features copper fish hand-formed by Gail McLain, glimmering tributes to local waterways and marine life.
Harbor Art Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
