Sky in the Road to perform at Concerts in the Woods

COYLE — Sky in the Road will perform folk music for the first Concert in the Woods of October at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The concert will be at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road.

Admission is by donation. Complimentary cookies and coffee will be served at intermission to guests.

“We love folk bands in Coyle and this one features the amazing talents of Daniel Rhiger and Rahmana Wiest who have assembled four of the best performers in Portland to build a unique multi-instrument and multi-voice folk group,” said series organizer Norm Johnson.

“You are going to love their full sound and pleasing harmonies.”

Rahmana Wiest plays the East Indian harmonium (reed-organ). Olivia Duffy performs on the mandolin and fiddle.

Maria Olaya plays guitar and Dan Rhiger plays guitars and bouzouki.

Sky in the Road has eight albums available now, seven of them mostly original music.

The eighth, “Celtic Gypsy” is a combination of Roma and Celtic music.
