East Coast singer-songwriter Jesse Terry will play two solo acoustic shows on the Olympic Peninsula — one in Coyle and one in Port Townsend — this weekend in support of his award-winning recent Americana album, “When We Wander.”
The first concert will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Concerts in the Woods at Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road in Coyle. Tickets are by donation only.
The second will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Palindrome Events Center, 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road in Port Townsend. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at https://jesseterry.bpt.me or at the door.
Terry’s seventh album, “When We Wander,” is the first he wrote since becoming a parent, so the family theme courses through many of its 12 songs.
His music career has been a family project ever since he became a full-time touring artist a decade ago, according to a press release.
He met his wife, Jess, while working on a cruise ship in the South Pacific, and he proposed upon their return to Nashville in 2010. Now the family tours with their 3-year-old daughter, Lily.
Terry, who is based in Connecticut, plays about 150 shows a year.
When pandemic restrictions canceled concerts and delayed the album’s release, he pivoted to performing online and found a strong new connection to his fans, who had helped fund his albums all along.
“My musical tribe has always been there for me,” he said.
