Shipova photographic exhibit on display at Sequim Civic Center

SEQUIM — An exhibit of photographs of the Olympic Peninsula by Marina Shipova, who is the artist fellow for the Sequim Understory Project, are on display now through January.

The display is in the Karen Kuznek Reese Gallery at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St. Civic Center hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The exhibit includes a digital presentation of Shipova’s work on a big screen that can be viewed through the window of the Civic Center at any time.

The Sequim Understory Project is a placemaking program intended to result in the design of Centennial Place at the corner of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street.

Shipova’s work is one of the community engagement components of the project.

Shipova will be outside the Civic Center form 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 27 as part of the Art Beat event during Hometown Holidays.

Limited copies of her book, “The Olympic Peninsula,” will be available for purchase for the nonprofit price of $25, the city of Sequim said. Cash and checks will be the only accepted form of payment and check must be made out to the City of Sequim.

Any books remaining after Nov. 27 will be available for purchase at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Visitor Information Center at 192 E. Washington St.
