SEQUIM — First Friday Art Walk will celebrate with a green-themed walk from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at various venues in downtown Sequim.

Special events in March include:
• The sixth Sequim Sunshine Festival will open with a brief ceremony from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza, 152 W. Cedar St.
The ceremony will include a welcome from Mayor Brandon Janisse, a social dance by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and a ribbon cutting by the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Play Boards, Bags & Brainpower Activities: Speed Cornhole and Trivia from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the civic center lobby and council chambers.
Explore the Interactive Light Experience by Ross A. Brown from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Garden Clubhouse at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St.
The custom-built interactive environment blends art and science and encourages visitors to look at both the artistic design element and the physical properties of light.
• Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., will host Shayna Robnett, along with Russell the Rooster, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Shayna and Kristen Robnett operate Lilly’s Safe Haven, a 5-acre farm animal rescue in Sequim.
Gallery members donate art in March to support a local nonprofit. This year’s recipient, Lilly’s Safe Haven, will receive the proceeds from sales of art in this month’s A Little Art Goes a Long Way! exhibit.
Founded in 2020, with the rescue of Lilly the sheep, the rescue is currently at maximum capacity with 40 roosters, six goats, 13 sheep, two lambs, two turkeys, three Muscovy ducks and six bunnies.
• The city’s Arts Advisory Commission will show its annual High Schools of the Olympic Peninsula Arts Exhibition from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery at the civic center, 152 W. Cedar St.
• The Navy Northwest Band will perform from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
• Olympic Peninsula YMCA, 610 N. Fifth Ave., will host an exhibit of paintings, photographs and 3-dimensional art created by YMCA members and staff from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Pondicherri, 121 E. Washington St., will host Kathy Nichols demonstrating how to create a small-scale watercolor of a tree branch with blossoms, to encourage the arrival of spring.
Attendees may create their own. Supplies will be provided. RSVP to 360-681-0954 so enough supplies can be on hand.
• The Juan de Fuca Harmony Chorus will perform at various locations and along the sidewalks throughout the evening.
• Sequim Habitat Boutique Store, 213 E. Washington St., will host live music by Indecisive Funk from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Sequim Museum & Arts, 544 N. Sequim Ave., will conduct a silent auction fundraiser in the Judith McInnes Tozzer Art Gallery throughout March.
• Pacific Pantry, 229 S. Sequim Ave., will be open until 7 p.m. showcasing water-based media artworks from Peninsula Art Friends.
• The River House Bakery and Cafe, 120 W. Bell St., will host June Echternkamp and her stained glass art.
• Alder Wood Bistro, 139 W. Alder St., will serve artisan wood-fired local, seasonal, organic food and display local artwork.
• Pacific Mist Books, 122 W. Washington St., will offer an eclectic mix of new and vintage books, cards and gifts, including local authors and artists.
• Sofie’s Flowers, 127 W. Washington St., will feature home décor and local artists’ creations.
• La Petite Maison Blanche, 213 E. Washington St., will feature uniquely curated gifts and festive treats throughout the shop and live music with Katy Lily.
• Over the Fence, 118 E. Washington St., will showcase local makers.
• Rainshadow Cafe, 157 W. Cedar St., will host live music by Dawn and Steve from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• The Habitat Boutique Store, 213 E. Washington St., will have live music by Reckless Dove from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Sequim Spice and Tea, 139 W. Washington St., will have unique art, including glass, pottery, illustration and local artists’ photography. Participants also can find creative tea blends, colorful teapots and cups and culinary gifts.
• Soup in the Alley, 138 W. Washington St., will feature a rotation of local artists, live music and treats.
• The Cedarbrook Lavender Gift Shop, 120 W. Washington St., will have farm-fresh lavender creations, treats and vintage décor items.
• Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., will serve crafted wines and appetizing tidbits.
• Forage Gifts and Northwest Treasures, 121 W. Washington St., will feature local and regional gifts, treats and art from around the area.
