SEQUIM — Competitions of strength and skill, fireworks and a 105-piece parade will be highlights of the 122nd Sequim Irrigation Festival grand finale this weekend.
The theme of the festival — which is the longest continuous festival in the state — is “122 Skies of Blue.”
A logging show and truck/tracker pull, a strongman showdown and fireworks are planned today in the Blake Avenue lot.
The logging show will continue Saturday, along with a show of hot rods and Harleys and a grand parade.
The parade will include the Irrigation Festival royalty of Princesses Abby Norman, Emily Straling and Alison Cobb, and Queen Karla Najera, along with Grand Marshal Vern Fosket, Pioneers Beverly Cays Hendrickson and Stephen Olts, and Honorary Pioneers Norma Govan Knapman Topness and Ron Parrish.
Also on Saturday, Judy Clark will headline a music festival celebrating “Music in the Skies of Blue” at 9 a.m. at the gazebo at the corner of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street. Clark will follow the Port Angeles band Ruin, which performs Celtic music, and guitarist singer-songwriter David Read.
The event, co-sponsored by the Lavender Jazz and Blues Society and 1st Security Bank in Sequim, is free and open to all ages.
Activities began last Thursday.

• Fireworks — 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Blake Avenue lot.
Saturday
• Logging Show, Truck/Tractor Pull — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Blake Avenue lot.
• Irrigation Festival Fun Run — Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with the run starting at 10 a.m.; J.C. Penney’s parking lot, 651 W. Washington St.
• Hot Rods and Harleys Show ’n’ Cruz — 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.; downtown Sequim prior to the Grand Parade.
• Grand Parade — Noon; downtown Sequim
• Car Show — Noon to 4 p.m.; Walmart, 1284 W. Washington St.
• Carnival — Noon to 11 p.m.; Sequim High School’s athletic fields along Fir Street.
