Sequim garden, climate change to be discussed Monday

A Sequim garden and climate change are among topics to be discussed at events Monday on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Garden Club meets

SEQUIM — Dona Brock will speak at a meeting of the Sequim Prairie Garden Club from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The monthly meetings are in the clubhouse at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St.

Brock, the president of the Sequim Botanical Garden, will provide an introduction to the garden which is located in Carrie Blake Community Park as well as a discussion about the garden’s future.

The public is invited to this free meeting.

Climate on tap

CHIMACUM — The Climate Action Committee of Local 20/20 will host “How to talk respectfully with others about climate change” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

The community discussion is part of the Climate On Tap series held at Finnriver Farm and Cidery, 124 Center Road.

Book lover’s cafe

PORT TOWNSEND — The Book Lovers’ Cafe will discuss “The Library Book” by Susan Orleans 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.

The free group meets monthly in the Charles Pink House, 1256 Lawrence St. Attendees can bring a wrapped new or gently read book for a gift exchange.

In February the group will discuss “Whiskey When We’re Dry” by John Larison.

Yoga benefit

PORT TOWNSEND — A Feel Good, Do Good Yoga benefit is set from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The class will be taught at Madrona MindBody Institute, 310 Fort Worden Way.

Admission is by donation; all proceeds benefit the Port Townsend Ballet.
