Sequim Christmas Chorus concert tickets on sale

SEQUIM — Think it’s too early for Christmas cheer? Think again.

Tickets are on sale for the Sequim Community Christmas Chorus, with performances set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1; 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2; and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3.

All performances are at Sequim Seventh-day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane.

Advance tickets are $5. A suggested donation of $5 can be made at the door. Children younger than 12 get in free.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, Bauer Interior Design (119 N. Sequim Ave.), Forage Gifts & Northwest Treasurers (121 W. Washington St.) and Elliott’s Antique Emporium (135 E. First St., Port Angeles).

Christmas music

The chorus will present a program of sacred Christmas music including favorites such as “Hallelujah Chorus” and “Peace, Peace,” in addition to selections such as “Make a Joyful Noise” and “The Many Moods of Christmas.”

The chorus is once again directed by Gary McRoberts, a director with more than 30 years’ experience, accompanied by pianist Donna Grubbs. Guest performers include a quartet from the Sequim Community Orchestra’s Kids’ Strings Program, recipient of the chorus’ $1,000 donation last year.

Again this year, the chorus will make a donation from proceeds to the program that introduces elementary school children to music.
