SEQUIM — A free group exhibit and yarn spinning demonstrations are planned on the Second Saturday Art Walk in Port Angeles.
The group exhibit will be on display at Studio Bob at 118½ E. Front St., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“Silk Synergy” features art, jewelry and wearable creations by artists Karen Sistek, Kris Buchanan, Marty Robinson, Evette Allerdings, Diane Wheatley, Melissa Penic, Jude Toler, Audrey Frigstad and Tiffeny Redman.
Saturday’s showing will have live music by Tin Sandwich, featuring Marty, Marilyn and Bones Kaler.
The show will continue from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Loom Bar will be open both days with wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea and snacks available for purchase.
Beginning Monday, appointments to view the show may be made by calling 415-990-0457.
Also offered free on Second Saturday will be demonstrations of various yarn spinning techniques and types of wheels and spindles at Cabled Fiber & Yarn.
The demonstrations will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the shop at 125 W. First St.
“Want to know how yarn is made? Stop by and see what this ancient art is all about and ask your questions,” said co-owner Beth Witters in a press release.
Also featured on the North Olympic Peninsula this weekend are:
• Concerts in the Barn — The sixth season at Concerts in the Barn at 7360 Center Road in Quilcene begins Saturday and Sunday with the Carpe Diem String Quartet, joined by George Lopez, artist-in-residence at Bowdoin College, performing the Brahms piano quintet in F minor.
Concerts begin at 2 p.m. Though the performances are free, attendees are encouraged to make contributions of $20 for lawn seating and $30 for barn seating. No one with a reservation will be turned away. To make a reservation, go to concerts inthebarn.org.
The farm will open to audiences at noon; the barn will open at 1 p.m.
• Lavender Melodrama — The opening weekend of Olympic Theatre Arts’ Lavender Melodrama continues tonight and runs through Sunday at the theater at 414 N. Sequim Ave.
The play begins at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. It runs through July 24. Tickets are $20, $15 for students.

• Anthropocene by Karen Lené Rudd will continue to be on display at the Jefferson Museum of Art & History, 540 Water St., through Sept. 18. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday though Sunday.
• Book sale by the Friends of the Sequim Library will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Friends’ storefront in Rock Plaza, 10175 Old Olympic Highway.
• Accordion social from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday will feature Joe Schipani of Sequim at Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St.
Accordionists are invited to bring their instruments and play. The recommended donation is $5.
• A book discussion will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the field behind the Sequim Library, 601 N. Sequim Ave, Sequim.
The group will discuss “Having and Being Had” by Eula Biss; paperback copies are available for pickup at the Sequim Library.
• Garden Walk — The Clallam County Master Gardeners will host their Second Saturday Garden Walk from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Fifth Street Community Gardens, 328 E. Fifth St.
Audreen Williams, Bob Cain and Laurel Moulton will discuss vegetable gardens.
