PORT ANGELES — Bob Stokes of Studio Bob is trying something a little different for his “Bring Your Own Art Show” during Second Saturday Art Walk.
Stokes will host the first annual “Bring Your Own Erotic Art” show at the studio upstairs at 118½ E. Front St.
The artists’ reception will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. A no-host bar and refreshments will be found in The Loom next door.
“February being Valentines Day and the month of love seems like a good time to try this frequently requested show,” Stokes said in a press release.
Art submitted must be done by the artist or a family member. The cost to show art is $5 per piece with no commission and there is no limit on the amount of art submitted. Artwork will be displayed throughout the month of February.
Art for the show can be dropped off at Studio Bob between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. today.

• Harbor Art Gallery, 114 N. Laurel, is featuring artist Tracy McCallum during February.
McCallum will be on hand to meet and talk with visitors form 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the Second Saturday Art Walk.
A life-long artist, McCallum hung out with a mysterious Sumi painter and Chinese calligrapher named Doc of Chinatown, New York City, in the early ’60s and was inspired to go to Art School at San Francisco City College and the San Francisco Art Institute where he studied oil and acrylic painting.
After a period of travel, he settled in Taos, N.M., for 40 years. There he built two homes, created and showed his landscape work and held down a day job as a librarian for more than 20 years. A 6-foot-by-3-foot landscape of his called “Evening Star” resides permanently in the Art Room of the Taos Public Library.
After retiring from the library in 1997, he took a workshop with calligrapher and ink artist Kazuaki Tanahashi.
A decade ago, he moved to Port Angeles and felt an urge to expand into three dimensions and a desire to work with natural materials, so he took up turning wood into bowls as his primary art focus. He uses many exotic woods such as cedar of Lebanon, African zebrawood, sassafras, Osage orange and koa, along with cucumber tree and ambrosia maple.
He has been a member artist of the Harbor Art Gallery since April of last year.
• One of a Kind Art Gallery, in The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave., will host Pam Fries, a local author and illustrator of the children’s picture book, “Something’s Eating the Garden,” from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the Second Saturday Art Walk.
Fries will sign copies of her book.
The softcover book is available locally at Sunny Farms and Nash’s Organic Produce and in Port Angeles at Swain’s General Store, Olympic Stationers, and One of a Kind Art Gallery. One of a Kind Gallery also carries the hardback version.
