PORT TOWNSEND — Rainshadow Recording Studio will host a concert featuring past Port Townsend Acoustic Blues faculty Rich DelGrosso and Grant Dermody on Saturday.
The concert will be from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the studio at Building 315 at Fort Worden.
Tickets are for sale online at http://rich andgrant.brownpaper tickets.com. Rainshadow said it would donate 10 percent of ticket sales to Centrum.
DelGrosso’s work, especially on the mandolin, has garnered him eight Blues Music Award nominations. Six of the eight were for Best Instrumentalist for his mandolin work. The others were Best Acoustic Album of the Year: one with Fiona Boyes and Mookie Brill in 2009 for Live From Bluesville and the other in 2015 for The Ragpicker String Band, according to Centrum’s website, www.centrum.org.
For more than 30 years, DelGrosso has performed and written articles for Blues Revue, Living Blues, Mandolin magazine, Frets and Sing Out!, and has published mandolin and guitar instruction books for Hal Leonard Publishing, the website said.
He has presented workshops across the Americas and Europe, including at Centrum, earning him a Keeping the Blues Alive Award from the Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tenn.
Dermody is a harmonica player, singer, songwriter and teacher from Seattle.
Since 2006, he has toured in the U.S. and Europe and recorded five albums with guitarist Eric Bibb.
He also has performed live in a trio with Orville Johnson and John Miller, releasing two albums in the process: “Deceiving Blues” in 2006 and 2011’s “We Heard the Voice of a Porkchop.”
Dermody has performed with Leon Bib and Honeyboy Edwards, Robert Lowery, Big Joe Duskin, John Dee Holeman and John Cephas.
Grant’s latest recording, “Sun Might Shine on Me,” is an encore to 2010’s “Lay Down My Burden.”
