This Easter weekend is relatively quiet in terms of live entertainment, but there will be some salsa dancing, live music and a bit of comedy at North Olympic Peninsula venues.
Here’s a cross-section.
• The Out Loud Story Slam is open tonight to storytellers and listeners at Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St., Port Angeles.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. slam, a friendly competition for people telling true personal stories.
This slam’s theme is “fools,” so tellers are encouraged to interpret that however they choose in five minutes or less.
Admission is $10 and more information can be had by emailing olypen storyslam@gmail.com.
• Key City Public Theatre’s “Around the World in Less Than 80 Days” opens tonight for a four-week run.
The story, written by Seattle actor and playwright David Natale, follows journalists Nellie Bly and Elizabeth Bisland as they race around the globe.
Maggie Jo Bulkley, Brendan Chambers, Christa Holbrook, Tomoki Sage and Natale himself portray numerous characters in this first KCPT show in two years.

• The Key City Ramblers roll into Discovery Bay Brewing, 948 N. Park Ave., Port Townsend, this Saturday.
Americana, blues, alt-country and folk rock flow from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with no cover charge.
• Jack Dwyer brings his signature mix of music to the Keg & I, 1291 Chimacum Road, Chimacum, this Saturday.
Along with guest Bobby Winstead, the vocal harmonies, country and bluegrass pour out from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Salsa Night happens this Saturday at Studio Bob, upstairs at 118 ½ E. Front St., Port Angeles.
Dance instructor Abby Bohman will give 30 minutes of instruction and warmup; then she’ll turn up the music, dim the lights and invite everybody to dance, salsa and otherwise.
This 18-and-older event will go from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with a $10 admission charge.

• Comedian Monica Nevi will appear Saturday night in the ballroom at Manresa Castle, 651 Cleveland St., Port Townsend.
The standup comedy show happens from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. with tickets available via thecastleinPT.com/events.
• Three Too Many, a rock’n’roll band, arrives at the New Moon Craft Tavern, 130 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles, for a gig from 8 p.m. till about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
• Royce Leon and the Milky Way Pirates bring their acoustic folk music to Finnriver Farm & Cidery, 124 Center Road, Chimacum, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
• The Alternators arrive at Finnriver Farm & Cidery in Chimacum for zydeco, swing and beyond on Sunday.
Fiddler Peter Evasic and his accomplice, George Radebaugh on accordion, add in Irish tunes, polkas and waltzes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• “Science Stories: A Collaboration of Book Artists and Scientists,” is the show on display at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
In this exhibition, 16 Pacific Northwest scientists and 22 book artists got together to create art books that interpret scientific research and tell stories.
The curious can explore the show online at PAFAC.org or in person at the gallery, which is open and free from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays through May 29.
