Live music — from Celtic to classical, blues to rock’n’roll — will flow freely this weekend on the North Olympic Peninsula. And there’s a dramatic backdrop to it all: a sailboat race across Port Townsend Bay.
Here are the particulars:
• A “Too Hot for Socks” swing dance will happen this evening at the Manresa Castle, 651 Cleveland St., Port Townsend. Dance instruction starts at 6:30 p.m.; Jonathan Doyle and band play music till 9 p.m. for a cover charge.
• The Shipwrights Regatta, postponed last month, will set sail at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Port Townsend Boat Haven and head toward the Northwest Maritime Center downtown. More than two dozen skippers have signed up at PTsail.org; the Port Townsend Sailing Association hosts the race across the bay.
An awards party follows the event at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St.

• The Port Angeles Symphony has two concerts Saturday — 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave., Port Angeles.
Guest artist Victoria Parker will join the orchestra and conductor Jonathan Pasternack for Bruch’s violin concerto No. 1 plus Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony.
Both performances are sold out, but concerts services manager Mark Wendeborn runs a waiting list of last-minute ticket requests.

• Lost in the Shuffle, the blues band made up of Gerry Sherman, Ralph Baker and Glen Hellman, will play Discovery Bay Brewing, 948 N. Park Ave., Port Townsend, this Saturday. There’s no cover for the gig from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• The Friends of the Trees Botanicals plant sale promises trees, shrubs and herbs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Finnriver Farm & Cidery, 124 Center Road, Chimacum.
• Keltoi, a six-piece Celtic band, arrives for a concert at the Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St., Port Townsend, on Saturday.
Cameron St. Louis, Vienna Scheyer, Rich Hill, David Rivers, Dave Bartley and Bill Woods dish up the Scots Gaelic songs, Scottish and Irish dance music and vocal harmonies at 7 p.m., after doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $20 and for now, masks and proof of vaccination are required.
• Locals’ Night is a cabaret-performance art-dance party at Manresa Castle, 651 Cleveland St., Port Townsend, on Saturday. The showcase flows from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. while information awaits at https://www.thecastleinpt.com.
• Andy Koch’s Badd Dog Blues Society presents a dance party at the American Legion Hall, 209 Monroe St. in downtown Port Townsend, on Saturday.
The full band featuring Jim Nyby, Mike Boyce and Kurt Munnich play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with no cover charge.
• Stringology, the trio of upright bassist-vocalist Tracy Grisman, ukulelist Terianne Stratton and guitarist Eric Bogart, delivers hot swing to Finnriver Farm & Cidery, 124 Center Road in Chimacum, on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Cool Jam & the Marmalades, a classic rock sextet, brings music from the ’60s and ’70s — with lots of Beatles in there — to the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road, Sequim. Dancers and listeners are invited to the gig from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, where there’s an admission charge.
• Kristen Marlo, a classically trained vocalist, self-taught guitarist and songwriter, will appear at Finnriver Farm in Chimacum this Sunday from 2 p.m to 4 p.m.
• “Science Stories,” the multimedia exhibition at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, marries art books with inquiries into the natural world. Admission is free at the fine arts center, 1203 E.
