Running start

FORKS — Peninsula College will host an information night for its Running Start program at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The free information session will be in The Commons at Peninsula College Forks, 481 S. Forks Ave.

Running Start is a program that allows high school juniors and seniors to earn tuition-free college credit.

PORT ANGELES — Mason’s Lodge 69 will host bingo from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Soup’s On

SEQUIM — Soup’s On is set for noon Wednesday.

The free program at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., is open to the community.

The meal includes a bowl of meat or vegetarian soup, a roll, salad and a small dessert.

Clemente lecture

CHIMACUM — Bill Porter will present “The Role of Landscape in Chinese Religion” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The lecture is part of the Jefferson Clemente Foundation’s Thinking Through the Land series presented at Finnriver Farm & Cidery, 124 Center Road.

The suggested donation of $10 per person benefits the Jefferson Clemente Course in the Humanities, a free accredited college humanities course for low-income adults.

Poetry and conversation

PORT HADLOCK — Whidbey Island poets Judith Adams and Holly Thomas will host an evening of poetry and conversation from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The poets will be speaking at the Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave.

Adams, an English-born poet, has written four volumes of poetry. Thomas is the author of “Pluck Another Apple, And Finish It.”

Ukulele open mic

PORT TOWNSEND — Ukuleles Unite will host a happy hour open mic event at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The free open microphone gathering will be at the Highway 20 Roadhouse, 2152 W. Sims Ave.
