Rocky Brook Falls slated as location for Worldwide Photowalk

BRINNON — Rocky Brook Falls has been set as the Olympic Peninsula location of the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Participants will meet in the Rocky Brook Falls parking lot.

The event is free, but pre-registration is required. Register here for the Rocky Brook Falls Photowalk.

The Rocky Brook Falls Photowalk is one of thousands taking place in cities all over the world, according to a press release.

Photographer Gene Royer is the walk leader for the Rocky Brook Falls Photowalk. Royer has been actively involved as a Photowalk leader since it started in 2007 and would like to continue that on the Olympic Peninsula.

The Worldwide Photowalk, dubbed the world’s largest global and social photography event, has grown immensely in size and popularity since the inaugural walk in 2007.

Last year, more than 25,000 photographers of all walks of life and skill level converged to explore their corners of the world through photography and social community.

Photowalks are created by Photowalk leaders in cities all over the world. Walkers meet up at a pre-designated location — downtown areas, zoos, business parks and other areas — to spend a few hours socializing, capturing images and sharing with like-minded people.

At the end of the Photowalk, most groups convene at local restaurants to share their images and experiences over food.

In addition to the event, photo walkers will be able to upload their favorite photo or video to a Photo-walk contest for a chance to win a DSLR, gift cards, apps, camera bags and other events.

Additionally, participants can connect socially before, during and after the event using #WWPW2019 on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
