PORT HADLOCK — The Seattle Museum of Flight will present three space-related programs today at the Jefferson County Library.
All three classes will be in the library located at 620 Cedar Ave.
The classes are free but space is limited and participants will be admitted on a first come first served basis.
The museum will present “Yes. It’s Rocket Science: Alka Rockets” for children ages 5-8 from noon to 1 p.m.
The program will teach about Newton’s laws of motion by building Alka-Seltzer powered rockets.
The museum also will present “Yes, It’s Rocket Science: Water Rockets” for children 8 to 12 years old from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This program teaches children about rocketry by designing and testing a water rocket as part of a team.
The museum also will present “Suited for Space” for children 10 to 13 years old from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
This class will explore the effects of space on the human body, participants will design space suits for marshmallow astronauts then test them in a portable vacuum chamber.
