Research, self help, social fieldwork on tap for Wednesday

Genealogical research and pizza, self-help for pain and an introduction to social fieldwork are among the upcoming offerings on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Genealogy and pizza

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Genealogical Society will host “Webinar Wednesday with Pizza” from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The society will show “New Tools and Ideas in Research” by Joshua Taylor at its research center, 402 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

The webinar is free and open to the public, but a $5 donation is requested from those who want to share in the pizza.

PORT ANGELES — Mason’s Lodge 69 will host bingo from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Soup’s On

SEQUIM — Soup’s On is set for noon on Wednesday.

The free program at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., is open to the community.

The meal includes a bowl of meat or vegetarian soup, a roll, salad and a small dessert.

Wellness forum

SEQUIM — Barb Paschal will present “Great Self Help Ideas that Work for Back Pain and Sciatica” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The lecture will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

The free presentation is part of the WOW! Working on Wellness Forum series sponsored by the Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic.

Paschal, a physical therapist, will discuss and demonstrate the key muscles to stretch, the key muscles to strengthen, and how core alignment starts with the head, neck and shoulders.

Yacht club to meet

SEQUIM — John and Mary Wegman will present “Journey through the Falkland Islands” from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The presentation is at the meeting of the Sequim Bay Yacht Club at John Wayne Marina, 2577 W. Sequim Bay Road.

The Wegmans will share stories and photographs from their recent cruise through the Falklands and South Georgia Island on the National Geographic ship Explorer.

The public is invited to the free presentation.

CHIMACUM

Grange meeting

CHIMACUM — The Guild for Social Fieldwork will present “Introduction to Social Fieldwork” at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The presentation is at a monthly meeting at the Chimacum Grange, 9572 Rhody Drive.

The presentation will introduce the Unite Our Understanding workshop series that will run at the grange over the next several months.

The meeting is preceded by a “bring a food optional” potluck at 6:30 p.m.
