Registration open for annual Womanfest retreat

PORT ANGELES — Registration is now open for Womanfest’s fall retreat, set for Sept. 22-24.

The retreat, held annually for more than 30 years at Camp David Jr., the Clallam County park on the north shore of Lake Crescent, includes meals cooked in the lakeside lodge, crafts, walks on nearby trails, swimming, canoeing and other relaxing activities the women choose.

Cost is $110, including all meals, snacks and two nights’ accommodation in rustic Camp David’s cabins.

Proceeds benefit Womanfest, a nonprofit North Olympic Peninsula organization composed of women from Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Townsend that awards scholarships to local women to further their education and hosts International Women’s Day celebrations in Port Angeles every spring.

“The retreat is always wonderful,” said Barbara Wise, a Womanfest board member who has been attending the retreat since 1987.

“Women value this opportunity to recharge, relax, create and play.”

Those who want to join the Womanfest retreat are asked to register by Sept. 12.

To register and for further details, go to www.womanfest.org and click on “Fall Retreat,” or contact Sandy Ulf at 360-941-3677 or sluquilt@gmail.com.
