Red Wine, Cider & Chocolate Tour starts this weekend

EDITOR’S NOTE: This corrects the list of wineries on the tour.

Book-ending Valentine’s Day will be two weekends of the Red Wine, Cider & Chocolate Tour.

The self-guided tour will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this weekend — Saturday and Sunday — and the following weekend Feb. 17-19 at nine Olympic Peninsula wineries and cideries.

Culinary favorites such as Camaraderie Cellars’ Cocoa Spiced Pulled Pork and FairWinds Winery’s chocolate fountain will be back by popular demand, and locally-made treats from We Do Fudge, Elevated Candies, Port Townsend Chocolates, Yvonne’s Chocolates and Crust Pies will inspire new flavor combinations as tour-goers travel from one venue to the next, organizers said.

Tickets are $40 online, $45 at the door (or $10 tasting fee per winery). Participants must be 21 or older.

Ticket and glass package entitles attendees to a commemorative wine glass, complimentary wine tasting and chocolate samples.

Participants who have their ticket stamped at all nine wineries will be entered into a drawing for a wine-themed gift basket.

The gift basket winner, along with a second- and third-place winner, will receive two tickets to the Northwest Wine and Cheese Tour in April.
