‘Rapunzel’ auditions open in Forks on Monday

FORKS — Children are invited to audition for a role in “Rapunzel” on Monday.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre will conduct auditions from noon to 2 p.m. in the Forks High School Commons, 261 Spartan Ave. Parents and children are asked to arrive by 11:45 a.m. to complete permission forms.

Children will be expected to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

The play will be performed at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Forks High School Commons.

Rehearsals will be from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day before the performances Jan. 21 — except Wednesday, when the Quillayute Valley School District will have an early release day.

Cast members will receive a complete schedule.

All students, from kindergarten through 12th grade, are welcome.

No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors also will be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production.

Among the roles to be cast are Rapunzel, the Princess, Madame Gothel, Rapunzel’s parents, the Wood Elves, Ears of Corn and a Potato, Unicorns, Pixies, Gremlins, Billy Goats Gruff, a Troll, Three Bears, a Beaver, Ogres and Mushrooms.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre will provide costumes, scenery, props and makeup.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is brought to Forks by the Quillayute Valley School District with support from Misty Valley Inn.
