Quilcene Fiber Festival on Saturday

QUILCENE — The second annual Quilcene Fiber Festival: From Sheep to Shawl has more to offer this year than last, according to organizers.

The festival, which will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Worthington Park, 151 E. Columbia St., “was the biggest business day for Quilcene last year and we have made it even bigger with more offerings this year,” said Brian Cullin of the Quilcene Historical Museum, which is hosting the event.

In addition to sheep shearing and wool waukers performing, the festival — which will encompass the entire park — also will offer sheep dog demonstrations, alpacas, story telling, sacred harp choral singers, live music and many vendors.

Parking is free, courtesy of the Quilcene Historical Museum. ADA parking is available behind the mansion.

The Quilcene Historical Museum is partnering with Fiber and Clay in hosting the festival centered in the newly restored Victorian mansion, museum, outdoor theatre, historic barn and on 10 acres.

Service animals are welcome indoors, and on-leash pets are welcome in the park.
