PTSO Chamber Music Series hosted Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church

The Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series will continue at 3 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church.

This free concert series features local award-winning soloists, recitalists, chamber musicians and PTSO members.

Tickets are free, but registration is required due to limited seating. To register, go to ptsymphony.org/chamber-music-series.

“This is the second concert and it’s exciting to see the ongoing development of our PTSO Chamber Music Series,” Tigran Arakelyan, conductor and artistic director of the Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra, stated in a press release. “These talented musicians volunteer their time to bring great music free to the public. We are proud of their commitment to the community. We also appreciate the enthusiastic, full-house audience response in support of this idea. That helps us know we are headed in the right direction.”

Performance

Artistic directors for the series are pianist Michael Carroll and cellist Pamela Roberts.

Featured artists for this concert are Kristin Smith, violin; Sung-Ling Hsu, viola; Michael Carroll, piano; Marina Rosenquist, violin; Joel Wallgren, clarinet; Lisa Lanza, piano; and Pamela Roberts, cello.

Bagatelles for clarinet and piano by Gerald Finzi.

Piano Quartet in Eb Major, Op. 47, III. Andante cantabile by Robert Schumann.

Oblivion by Astor Piazzolla, arranged for piano trio by Jose Bragato.

Piano Trio in B-flat Op. 99, D898, I. Allegro moderato by Franz Schubert.

Fantasy on themes from the Wizard of Oz by William Hirtz.

Donations to the Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra will be accepted at the door.
