PORT TOWNSEND — For three weekends in October, Port Townsend audiences can see the world premiere of Joey and Phina Pipia’s newest show, The Psychic Dynasty, a father and daughter mind-reading team.
Shows are slated for 8 tonight and Saturday night and Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27 at the Chameleon Theater, 800 Park Ave. W. in Port Townsend.

Joey and Phina Pipia are back for a return engagement after a sold-out performance at the Chameleon in July.
The duo blend comedy and magic.
“The show is designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats,” said Phina Pipia, “created to be at once jaw-dropping amazing and unforgettably fun.”
The duo will share a selection of effects, including channeling the spirit of the late performer Johnny Cash, and a whimsical act in which the pair demonstrates a musical instrument you can play with your brain.
“The effects you will see are completely original,” said Joey Pipia, adding that, “a handful are our own re-invention of classic mentalism acts from the late 1800s and early 1900s.”
The real-life father-daughter team has been performing their original brand of mind-reading since 2012, working together to create stage pieces that are unexpected, inventive and, of course, funny, according to a press release.
“We love working together to create the least expected outcomes,” said Phina Pipia, “It’s so exciting to watch a new piece evolve into something mysterious — something that makes people gasp.”
Both Pipias have a long history of performing as individuals.
Joey studied as a real-life sorcerer’s apprentice in New York City with a renowned magician, Slydini. He has performed his stage show, Delusions of Grandeur, at The Center House Theater in Seattle and across the U.S.
His close-up magic show, The Magic Chamber, enjoyed a sold-out run at Seattle’s Intiman Theater. He performs on cruise ships and as a corporate entertainer.
The New York Times has called Phina “terrific,” and her work has been hailed as “impossible to resist” by the Montreal Gazette. She has presented her original musicals both on the East and West coasts, and works as a solo singer-songwriter.
She also is a sousaphonist with the Port Townsend-based Unexpected Brass Band.
