‘Prevail’ anthology, now on sale, features Peninsula writers

PORT ANGELES — “Prevail,” a new anthology of writing by North Olympic Peninsula authors, is on sale now.

The book, which features 28 authors, is dedicated to stories of overcoming difficult situations such as COVID-19 and other unexpected occasions.

“Contents come from published favorites as well as new voices in the community,” the group said. “Short stories, essays, memoirs and poetry are meant to help readers reflect, sigh, laugh, and sense a new spark of hope.”

The 225-page book is available first on Amazon.com and then at local retailers for $14.05.

“Prevail” covers topics and situations such as an assassin trying to locate her mark when everyone is wearing masks, a cat with its own agenda of comfort, the proper format for lamentations, an old man’s forgetfulness, learning to climb mountains, the life of an essential worker and a Russian roulette crap shoot.

Port Angeles authors include Jan Thatcher Adams, M.D.; Gordon Anderson; Eric Dieterle; Samantha Hines; Katherine See Kennedy; Al Kitching; Eva McGinnis; Linda B. Myers; Steve Valadez and Louise Lenahan Wallace.

Sequim authors include Craig Andrews; Jeri Bidinger; Gary E. Bullock; Lauralee DeLuca; Judith R. Duncan; Jon Eekhoff; Joan Enoch, M.D.; Susan Ericson; Heidi Hansen; Derek Huntington; Dianne L. Knox; Pamela S. Kuhlmann; Melee McGuire; Terry Moore; Jon Norgord; Terry Sager and Sarah Shepard.
