Port Townsend Wearable Art Show entry window open

Registration closes at midnight Dec. 15

PORT TOWNSEND — Entries are now open until midnight Dec. 15 for the 10th anniversary Port Townsend Wearable Art Show, a celebration of art in motion on the human body.

Student and adult artists from all walks of life are encouraged to enter. Forms and guidelines can be found, along with information about the show, at PTwearableart.com.

Entry fees for adults are $20 for the first entry and $10 each for additional entries; for students, it’s $10 for each entry.

The event will offer both a matinee and an evening performance at Fort Worden State Park’s McCurdy Pavilion on May 9. It showcases art made of recycled objects, fine fabrics, books, movie-popcorn bags, colored twine and the many other materials artists use to create a piece.

Prizes after the event include $2,500 for best in show, $1,000 for second place, $500 for third place, $500 for people’s choice and $250 for best student art.

Port Townsend Wearable Art Show tickets go on sale Sunday, Dec. 1, at brownpapertickets.com.

All proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Fund for Women and Girls, which makes grants to local organizations.
