Port Townsend Summer Band to perform Sunday

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Summer Band will present “Wings in Motion” at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The free family-friendly concert will be outdoors at Chetzemoka Park, 1000 Jackson St.

Concert-goers are invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating on the grass at the park.

The program includes Hawk Moon, Dance the Night, from the 2023 movie “Barbie,” Feed the Birds from “Mary Poppins,” Flying Away, Raptors: Birds of Prey, As the Robin to the Meadow, In This Beautiful Place and On Wings of Glory.

“As a special treat, the band is excited to welcome MaryLou Sanelli and her team of dancers who will perform two pieces in the park’s iconic gazebo,” conductor Marge Rosen said. “Sanelli will be joined by Salina Treider, Shanta Corra and Kari Morehouse in a contemporary dance number, while Lynette Holloway and Dale Bateham will perform a ballroom dance.”

The band also will present concerts on Aug. 9 at the Jefferson County Fair and on Aug. 25 at Pope Marine Park.
