Port Townsend Film Festival to kick off new series

First movies to mark Pride Month

PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend Film Festival is launching a monthly film series called PTFF Focus, which aims to be driven by community concerns.

“We are actively seeking collaborations with businesses and community organizations to show films that will amplify the important messages and missions of these local partners,” according to a press release.

“We aim to delve deeper into our mandate to serve this community by partnering as a resource for you.”

The series will begin Thursday and Friday with films marking Pride Month in partnership with Olympic Pride and Jefferson County Transgender Support.

“The Celluloid Closet,” a film about LGBTQ visibility in cinema, will be shown from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.

“Sweetheart,” a queer coming-of-age film, will be shown from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

Films will be shown in person at The Balcony Theatre, 211 Taylor St., Suite 401A, or online at https://ptfffocus.eventive.org/schedule.

Tickets are $12 for in-person viewing and $8 for streaming on demand. See https://ptfffocus.eventive.org/schedule for tickets.
